It comes as no surprise that at this time of year Chiropractors treat many people who have slipped and fell on the ice while walking outside. On a recent day at my office the first two patients treated had recently fallen on the ice. Falling and landing on the hip area can cause a misalignment or subluxation of the sacro-iliac joint in the pelvis which can be a source of low back pain. The injuries can occur anywhere in the neck and spine just from the impact or from the quick reaction trying to catch yourself from falling. Over time I have seen many people who have hurt themselves without falling all the way but just while catching themselves.

This November I attended a three day conference in Denver on how to more effectively treat pain and other conditions with acupuncture. This video shows a standard chiropractic adjustment to help a patient who has suffered from sports injuries (snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing), a car accident four years back that gave his upper back whiplash (the car was rear ended) and stiffness from prolonged computer use being hunched over.
